Area Youth Orchestra
The Chamber Music Connection provides chamber music education for music students of all ages (including adults) and abilities, from the earliest levels of proficiency to the most advanced.
Open to all string, wind, and piano students, participants are afforded the opportunity to hear, see, and work with professional chamber music ensembles and musicians in concerts, master classes, and workshops. Participants are generally placed in groups of three, four, or five, allowing for an intimate learning experience.

The Fayette County Youth Orchestra was organized this year. Membership in the orchestra is open to string players with at least two years of experience who successfully pass the entrance audition. Auditions are Mon., Sept. 13. Rehearsals are generally 6 p.m., Monday beginning Sept. 20. Concerts are scheduled for Sat., Nov. 13, 2010, and Sat., April 30, 2011. Warm up begins at 1:30 p.m. and concerts start at 3 p.m. For more information, contact Mrs. Moran or program director Cynthia Wilson.

The Southern Crescent Youth Orchestra, sponsored by the Southern Crescent Symphony Orchestra, is designed to meet the performing needs of advanced students from area school orchestra programs and private studios. Membership in the orchestra is open to string players with at least two years of experience who successfully pass the entrance audition. The orchestra’s first three seasons have included concerts in Spivey Hall and performances with the Southern Crescent Symphony. For more information, contact Mrs. Moran.

The Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestras of Atlanta is a community-based youth orchestra founded to provide young students with an opportunity to continue their music education in a full orchestra setting, work directly with professional musicians, and perform in public.
